Oranges and Cloves

Here is another great project we love making around the holiday season. All you have to do is cut oranges into slices, dehydrate, and poke in cloves! We like to hang them on our tree and all around the house. I also pop a few into boiling water to make the house smell sweet. The kids always think I've baked something. (yea right!)

The power of intention

Friday night Jim and I were talking about when and where and what kind of tree to get this year. I proceeded to tell him Jim how much I would like to take a family vacation to Wisconsin or Minnesota next year to cut down a fir tree at a tree farm. He looked at me with a raised eyebrow and said whatever you wish sweetheart.

Well, much to my super amazement when I went to market this morning to drop off some of my crafted wonderfulness, there was Dalton Webster, standing out in the cold next to four beautiful fir trees. "Where did you get these?" I asked. Well, they went to visit their granny in Wisconsin for the Thanksgiving holiday and cut down some trees to bring back and sell! Can you believe it!! I still can barely believe it! And the most amazing part.... the 7'+ tree was only $30!! $30 I tell you!!
We have to wait for it to warm up and relax it's little branches before we can decorate it... Ella in the mean time decided to decorated herself....

Needle Felting Gnomes Class

This morning Reni and I offered a needle felting class at the At Home Store. Then I dashed off to the indoor market at the old armory building. So many fun things to do in this small town of ours.

I've got some! I've got some!

I have been looking everywhere for these!! Old fashion, round style clothespins. The ones you need to make clothespin dolls.. like these we made at Harvest Festival...

However, these are so lovely, I think I'm just going to keep them around to look at!!

Flower Gift Certificates

Dawn and I are offering flower shares for next year's flower growing season! Our holiday cards will be available at Revelations and other local businesses, just in time for art walk!

Applesauce and Cinnamon Ornaments

We love making these around the holiday season. Simply mix equal parts of applesauce and ground cinnamon together, roll and cut out. Some recipes say to place them in the oven for a while on really low heat, but we just let them dry on a cookie sheet. Use them as ornaments, gifts, gift tags, or whatever your heart desires!

Mind our beeswax

For the past several days we've been busily making beeswax ornaments "for all our friends and family and to sell," says Ella. Ever since we started gardening and going to market, 3+ years ago, Ella wants to sell everything we make!

These lads and lassies sure do make the house smell good.
